Design, computation, and the systems we build for one another.
I am Amogh Jadhav, a product designer working at the intersection of design and deep technology. I am interested in the moment when a tool stops being a demo and starts belonging to the people who use it.
By day I work at ARPM on Decode, a visual scripting and agentic AI tool for architects and designers. Much of my thinking there is about the same problem I keep circling back to in my own work: how do you build computational systems that give people more agency over their own ideas, instead of quietly taking it away?
That question also took me to the bamboo craftsmen of Sikkim through Echostream. We built a computational weaving tool together, ran a workshop with students around it, and put up a bamboo pavilion that came out of that collaboration. It is the first project I have written about here: The Missing Interface tells that story, and more projects and stories will follow.
Work and recognition
Before ARPM, I designed XR interfaces for an ISRO space habitat study at the Indian Institute of Science, and held a Ford Foundation Research Fellowship on bio-inspired digital fabrication. My work has been recognised as a Terra Carta Design Lab Finalist (2024), an MS Symposium video winner at IISc (2024), and through Critical Ecologies Japan (2023) and the Gaea Exhibition, New York (2021).
